About us

Paola Le Brun

I have been knitting for as long as I can remember. But it wasn't until Cathy and I opened the store "Le Coin Artisanal" that I realized how incredibly versatile and fun it can be.  I was introduced to many other art forms including felting, spinning, and weaving.  I am looking forward to sharing these arts with you and helping you understand and appreciate how wonderful wool is.

Hi!  For 6 years, I was co-owner of Le Coin Artisanal.  I learned to knit from Paola when we opened the store and became quite proficient at it.  I was teaching beginner knitting classes as well as finishing techniques.  I am detail-oriented and strive for perfection in my knitting.

I have been running with scissors since I could walk. As the paper and glue of my youth was replaced with cloth and thread as my preferred medium, my work has also evolved from frilly gowns for my dolls to costumes for my kids. Today, I present myself as an art quilter. The pieces I create will remind you of those in ink and paint but they are entirely constructed of textiles and fibers.  Many of my award winning art quilts have been exhibited nationally and internationally and are now in private collections.

I am a fibre artist, native of Newfoundland living in Montreal, my work spans from wearable's to decorative pieces. I discovered Nuno Felting about nine years ago and it has been my passion ever since. What I love about this art form is that there are few restrictions, just follow your imagination and enjoy the process.

Over the years I have taken many workshops, in 2015 I traveled to California to take a Nuno Felting and Eco Printing workshops with master fibre artist Vilta Kazlauskait and Irit Dulman.

I have been teaching workshops in Felting and Nuno Felting for the last 6 years and Eco Printing on Silk for the last 2 years. My favourite part of teaching is to see the faces of first-time felters  as they see the magical transformation of the wool roving and silk into a beautiful piece of wearable art. Join me for a Felting or Nuno Felting Workshop to see the magic firsthand.
